Acupuncture & Chinese Medicine Chinese medicine works on holistic principles, seeing the organism as one complete system, and therefore focuses on restoring balance to the system, relieving blockages and strengthening weak elements where necessary. The following methods are offered as part of a treatment, where applicable. Acupuncture involves the use of fine, sterile, single-use needles into certain points on different parts of the body. After an initial, in-depth consultation, the points will be decided based on the information given. It is generally painless, although some brief discomfort, tingling, pulling, cold/hot/electric sensations may be experienced. Some gentle massage may be used prior to acupuncture to aid treatment. Moxibustion This is the use of the herb Mugwort (Artemisia Vulgaris). It is burned, either on top of a needle, on an individual point or over points, channels or areas of the body in a rolled stick, like a cigar. It encourages circulation, and provides warmth, which can strengthen the body in certain conditions. It may be used in conjunction with acupuncture and in rare cases as a treatment by itself. Cupping A vacuum is created in a glass cup using a flame, which is then quickly applied to a part of the body, most commonly the back or shoulders. This lifts the skin, adipose and deeper tissues, loosening the area in a similar way to massage and improving circulation to the local area. This can be used as part of your acupuncture treatment, or sometimes as a treatment by itself. It will cause some bruise-like marking, but this will pass in 2-3 days. Initial
consultation. One hour

Osteopathy Structural Osteopathy is a holistic therapy that deals with problems in the muscles and joints. In particular, it looks at finding restrictions in joints and releasing these restrictions using manipulative and non-manipulative techniques. Classical Osteopathy is a full body non-manipulative treatment which looks at re-aligning the spine and re-balancing the pelvis. This therapy can be used to treat acute or chronic back pain, joint pain and other conditions such as Fibromyalgia and circulatory problems. Visceral Osteopathy is a form of treatment that encourages the release of restrictions within viscera in the abdomen and pelvis. As tissue tensions are released the viscera or organs are allowed to move with greater freedom and return to their equilibrium positions thus restoring normal function.Visceral manipulation has been used to treat conditions such as poor digestion and aid the release of pelvic muscle spasms. Cranio-sacral Therapy Is a gentle treatment which corrects imbalances in the fluid which surrounds the brain and spinal cord. When combined with other osteopathic methods this gentle treatment can be used to treat migraine, neuralgia, acute or chronic neck pain and the inability to relax. Hot Oil Deep Tissue Massage uses heat to relieve muscular tension. The heated medium has the effect of penetrating through the superficial layers of skin and muscle to allow deep seated adhesions and restrictions within muscle and fascia to be released. This treatment can also be combined with Cranio-sacral Treatment First appointment one hour £55 Follow up appointments forty five minutes £55 Osteopathy treatments with Leo Sharmer 07967 503362 |

Harmony Raindrop Therapy Raindrop Therapy is a healing technique based on Lakota Native Healing, using pure medical grade essential oils ( www.youngliving.com ), to bring balance, harmony, and alignment on mental, physical, and emotional level. Just like the blood gives our body life, essential oils are the life of plants. They can have healing effects on the body, especially the ones that are specifically chosen for this technique. When applied to the body, the oils are absorbed into the skin and travel down through the dermis levels into the interstitial fluids. They are helpful in fighting bacteria and viruses that travel through the body. Essential oils also stimulate the nerves and the re-growth of tissue. The technique is designed to bring the body back into structural and electrical alignment. Often many types of spinal problems and misalignments are caused by toxins that lie dormant within the spine. The use of therapeutic-grade essential oils helps to dispose of these viruses within the spine, helping its structure return to normal. One Hour £50 90 minutes (incorporate with other bodywork): £65 Heart Empowerment (Family Constellation) Heart Empowerment is the modified version of Family Constellation. The most powerful of these forces is our family, by whom we are largely shaped, sometimes in ways we have not fully understood. Often certain patterns or difficulties we are met with don't respond well to regular individual therapy because they related to issues with our family. In Heart Empowerment sessions, Rebecca uses a variety of approaches to explore family dynamics including influences from Buddhism including meditative contemplation. In the session Rebecca examines the connections between the different elements of a system and people or events which may have been previously overlooked. A way to by-pass the superficial layers of our minds, where our desires, attitudes and beliefs are generated, and directly approach the roots of conflicts. Heart Empowerment can help with issues such as: Difficulties between parents and children; Family rifts; Relationship difficulties with partners including business partners; Childhood abuse; Trauma; Persistent emotional symptoms (depression, anxiety, rage etc); Divorce and separation; Bereavement and loss; Persistent behavioral problems, including addictions and compulsions; Business and money issues; Isolation and belongings. Rebecca recommends a 90 minutes or 2 hours session for your first session, and 1 hour to 90 minutes thereafter. One Hour £45 90 minutes £65 Two Hours £80 Body Harmony Body Harmony is a continually evolving system that encompasses many aspects of bodywork. As an open system of treatment, it represents a philosophy that takes into account all aspects of the client: physical, mental, emotional and spiritual.Body Harmony sees the client as the true source of healing and their way as the path to that healing. A session typically begins with a discussion of the client's issues and goals incorporating the "Equation", which includes the client, the practitioner, the environment and reactions. The client is observed both still and in motion, so that an analysis can be made of body posture, movement and functions, relevant to the goals set by them. By listening to the body and following each person's unique path, Body Harmony allows the body to unwind and release past traumas.
